Beaufort U14s vs Abertillery

Date :- 4th September 2011

BEAUFORT RFC JUNIORS( UNDER FOURTEENS) 66 ABERTILLERY JUNIORS 5

Beaufort Juniors copied their senior counterparts with a big win to open their season. .They conjured up 10 tries in a match that started badly for them. Within a minute of the kick off they shaken by an Abertillery touch down but regained their composure to eventually run in 10 tries for a comfortable win. Aaron Boulter got a hat trick, Ieuan Jones notched up a brace while Joel Harries, Tom Morgan and Owain Preece all grabbed a try apiece Ryan Hale in form with the boot kicked 7 conversions and Morgan Woodland one It was a good start for the juniors with man of the match Ieuan Jones having a particularly good game with his line breaks and support play . Next week the team heads off to Caerphilly.

Beaufort Vs Forgeside September 3rd 2011

Beaufort got off to a flying start to their season with a13 try blitz of Forgeside. They were manifestly superior in all departments of the game making it a long afternoon for their opponents. The primary agents of the visitors agony was their set piece which was completely demolished by the opposition rendering them bereft of any decent possession. Beaufort also displayed a disciplined structure executed with a good deal of exuberance and vibrancy which will be needed in what promises to be a hard season.

The game was effectively over as a contest on the half hour when the fourth and bonus point try was scored. Thereafter the game was played with non contested scrums. Unhappily for the visitors there was to be no respite as they struggled to stem the tide and were eventually put to the sword with clinical precision. Jason Taylor, Lee Roper and Lewis Hodson all bagged a brace of tries a piece with Andrew Morgan, Mark Heasely, Geraint Phillips, Matthew Burrows, Kyle Purnell, Justin Bennett and Chris Morris all making touchdowns. Darrel Roper notched up 18 points from 9 conversions and Morris converted his own try. It was Beaufort's biggest win in a league match but they should not get carried away . There were too many turnovers to regard the performance as faultless . This will need to be addressed against stiffer opposition.

The star performer on the day was Jason Taylor who has lost none of his competitiveness in making what was his 404th appearance in the Beaufort colours
